Healogesic MF typically contains Mefenamic Acid (an NSAID) and may include an antispasmodic component; it’s used to relieve pain from menstrual cramps, colic, headaches, musculoskeletal or joint discomfort, and mild to moderate post-operative or post-partum pain .
It works by blocking prostaglandin synthesis (reducing inflammation and pain) and relaxing smooth muscles to ease spasms, especially helpful in dysmenorrhea.
Common side effects include stomach upset, nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, and there’s risk of stomach bleeding or kidney strain with prolonged use—it should be taken with food and only as directed by a doctor
